SFT Ocean Guard Fenders safely accommodated the 'Odyssey of the Seas' in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

Last December, the Dominican Republic welcomed one of the largest cruise ships in the world, the Odyssey of the Seas. The 348-meter mega cruise ship belongs to the Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines and arrived at Taino Bay in Puerto Plata with more than 4,100 passengers and crew members on board.

For the refurbishment of the cruise berth in Puerto Planta, our American SFT office supplied 19 pieces of Ocean Guard Fenders as well as 22 Single Bitt Bollards and one Ocean Guard Mooring Buoy.

The reception of the Odyssey of the Seas was a very important event for the country and therefore, it was of utmost importance to deliver the fenders on time. Despite the current challenges in international shipping, our Team managed to do this, also thanks to very good coordination with the customer. The fenders were trucked from California to Florida and from there shipped by sea to the Dominican Republic.

In general, the cruise terminal is an important infrastructure project for the country, creating many job opportunities and strengthening tourism in the Caribbean.
