ShibataFenderTeam’s new brochure for buoys and barriers – out now!

The SFT Group, headquartered in Germany and the leading manufacturer of high-quality fender systems, has just published its SFT Buoys & Barriers Brochure. It provides valuable insights into the wide range of buoy products. SFT has been manufacturing foam fenders and buoys at its own production facility in Rechlin, Germany for many years, underlaying our experience and extensive knowledge in manufacturing of foam products.

The brochure presents performance data, information about construction and design features as well as drawings of a typical buoy layout. In general, the construction of floating buoys consists of four different components: 1) A fabricated steel core, 2) a rigid closed cell urethane foam core, 3) a resilient outer foam shell and 4) a reinforced elastomeric skin.

Since foam buoys and barriers are highly customized, the brochure includes a questionnaire asking for the details of the buoy requirements which helps our engineers to design an optimal solution for your individual application. Our fender experts are always available for an individual consultation - contact your local SFT office here.

SFT has also published a "Guide to Manufacturing High Quality Pneumatic Fenders" in English, Spanish and French, which is available for download on the SFT website.

For additional and comprehensive information on rubber compounding, blending, manufacturing, curing and testing, download the SFT White Paper Series in English, Spanish and French from our website.
